Awesome Things from the internet this week:
A panda on a rocking chair. You read that right. (YouTube)
Oh, did you hear that Philippa Gregory, she of The Other Boleyn Girl, will now be writing YA. After her last two novels, I'm sure it'll be bad and that I will read it. (The Bookseller)
Do you love Jon Hamm? You should, but he loves Game of Thrones! (MovieFone)
If you live in the UK, did you catch this? A supernova, the nearest in 40 years!, from 21 million years ago was visible on the 8th of September.
Also, ants in space? Well, not really but it is cool.
Amazon is going to launch their own "book rental program." That sounds pretty fantastic to me; I'm all for renting books. (The Telegraph)
What happens when a person tries to walk a straight line, blindfolded. I LOVED the animation of this video, and the subject is pretty weird and interesting.
Have you seen the costumes from Miss Universe? I felt like it was the opening ceremonies for the Hunger Games in Panem! Miss USA was my favorite, mostly for this line, "It's like Washington crossing the Delaware to go to Hooters."
Kirkus has it's list of 10 Can't-Miss Fall books, and one of my favorite reads of the year was on there! Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson is more than worth reading. My review is here: I gave it 4.5/5 stars.
Something full of whimsy and fun: art inspired outfits!
On the sad note of the 10th anniversary of the attacks on New York, September 11, 2001:
