15 Day Book Blogger Challenge - How I Choose What To Read Next

Friday, October 11, 2013

I was late to know about this awesome challenge out together by Good Books and Good Wine, so when a friend wanted to start it late, I jumped it. There are several of us joining in - every Friday for 15 weeks, Christina of A Reader of Fictions, Lili of Lili's Reflections, Mickey of I'm A Book Shark and I will post our challenge answers. Stop by their blogs to see their answers!

A lot of what I read is by date -- either pub date, blog tour date, or expiration date (for e-ARCs).

When I get a book tour book, I stick a post-it on the top cover to remind me when I have to read and review it by for the tour. Once those are sorted by date, I then check my NetGalley queue. If I have an ARC on there that will expire before my next book tour book needs to be read, I will load that one up on my Nook/Kindle and get reading.

When I get actual physical copies for ARCs (hellloooooo Cress!), I add them into my book tour review pile and make a note to read them a month or so before they are pubbed.

IF, by some chance, I've checked my Book Tour pile, the ARC stack, and the NetGalley queue and nothing is due for a few days... well, then I get to do a "me-read." I look at my bookcase of unread finished copies and I will randomly select whatever sounds best. YA contemporary? Epic fantasy? Science fiction? ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

  1. I'm behind on my finished reviews copies and a few from Netgalley but I have some upcoming yet to be published ones to read so should I stay on target for those or try to work on my back catalog or oooh I have all these other pretty books that I shouldn't read but want to but now I'm so confused I've spent an entire day trying to figure out what to read and nothing has gotten done.
So glad I didn't do this blog post it would've been something similar to that. Chaotic. That is me.
